We recently installed this 27 inch dell monitor for a customer that needed a professional level display with plenty of adjust-ability and a great picture. We chose a Dell UltraSharp 27 inch model that has the ability to move up, down, tilt and even be used as a vertical monitor. This can give you a longer view of webpages and documents, can be used as digital signage or an information kiosk for customers or staff. This monitor is only 27 inches but we can work with larger models and even TVs to display your company information.
If you have a new to display information in this fashion and would like some assistance please give us a call to discuss your needs.
This iMac was brought to us with the usual issues from a Mac of this age. The user reported that it was running very slow and the fans were loud. They wanted to know if they should spend the money to replace it or was there something that could be done to bring it back to life.
The price of a new iMac could range from $1200 to well over $2000 for a top of the line machine. The truth is that most people don’t need the latest and greatest Mac to do the things they need to do on a computer.
We were able to replace the old and worn out spinning hard drive with a new super fast SSD drive. This new drive is 10x faster than the old drive and runs considerably cooler and quieter. We also took the opportunity to clean the fans and vents to ensure that everything was cooling properly.
We were able to clone the old drive over to the new SSD so the only difference the user saw was the tremendous speed increase. All their files and programs were exactly as they were before the upgrade.
The end result was an iMac that actually ran faster, quieter and cooler than it did when it was new out of the box. It was taking over 5 mins for it to boot up to the desktop before the upgrade. After the upgrade it was ready to go in under 30 seconds and applications responded almost immediately when clicked.
If you have an older Mac and are considering upgrading due to slow performance or space issues then please give us a call first to explore your options. We may be able to upgrade your hard drive or increase your RAM to give you the performance boost you need to make your Mac last.
We can save you thousands over the price of a new computer.
This HP Compaq computer was a bit older and hadn’t had regular maintenance in quite a while. The customer reported that it was running slow for a while and now started shutting down on it’s own.
As you can see from the before and after photos it was very dirty inside causing it to overheat and shut down to keep from doing damage to the motherboard and CPU. The CPU fan and heat sink were completely clogged with dust and not effective anymore. Once the dust has covered the fins on the heat sink the fan can no longer do it’s job. If this customer didn’t bring the computer in it would have eventually been damaged beyond repair.
We thoroughly cleaned the inside and outside of the PC to make sure there was proper airflow and it could cool effectively. We also replaced a fan that had been damaged by trying to work too hard to cool off the computer. Now it starts up and runs like new!
If it’s been a while since you have had your computer cleaned then give us a call! A little maintenance goes a long way in keeping your computer running as long as possible.
The customer reported that their fairly new Dell Studio XPS would no longer turn on after a recent storm. Most of the time when pushing the power button it would turn a faint yellow color but it would not boot and there was no noise as if it was starting up.
We diagnosed it over the phone as a bad power supply and when we got it into the shop that is exactly what we found. The power supply was replaced and got it back up and running with no issues. We also took the chance to upgrade the power supply to a more powerful, reliable and cooler running model.
If your computer won’t boot or seems to have power issues bring it us to check it out and get you back up and running.

This business customer has a need for high speed internet but is unable to get traditional cable or DSL service to their location. This leaves them with cellular internet as the only option.
They need a router, along with a backup router, to send the signal to all their wireless devices and several wired computers. We setup two new Verizon access points and matching Cradlepoint routers to handle all the traffic for the whole network.
While this customer is using the Cradlepoint / Verizon setup as their sole internet connection this can also be used as a fail safe for traditional cable, fiber or DSL connection. If your service is interrupted from your main ISP you can switch over to the cellular router until your normal service is restored. This can save valuable time and money and keep your company from going down for extended periods of time due to outside circumstances.
If being online and running is crucial to your company please give us a call.
A recent customer reported that their Macbook, though only a few years old, was starting to run slow and had some programs installed that they could not remove. Although, historically, the Mac has been better at not getting virus infections, malware infestations and nuisance adware type programs, that has changed recently. OSX is completely capable of getting infected either by a virus, malware, proxy redirect or just about any other issue a PC user would face.
In this case, it was only a program called MacKeeper. MacKeeper was installed intentionally but because a nuisance with pop-ups and constant alerts slowing down the computer and interrupting normal use. The user was unable to uninstall it and remove it from the computer. We were able shut down the program and get all signs of it removed along with a couple of other unnecessary programs.
While working on the laptop we let the user know that only a small amount of RAM was installed and that was a major source of their slowdown. We upgraded their ram to 8GB from 2GB and the laptop was working better than ever and had plenty of RAM to ensure that several programs and browser tabs running at the same time wouldn’t slow it down, any more.
If your Mac is being slowed down by unwanted programs that start up when you boot or you would just like it to be cleaned up give us a call. While we do the clean-up and optimization we can check the hardware to see if anything can be upgraded or needs to be replaced to make it run, even better.
