Beautiful white custom gaming PC build with the latest RTX 2080Ti graphics card, Intel i7 CPU and NVME SSD hard drive.
Dirt, dust and debris can slow down, damage and even destroy your computer. It doesn’t matter if you have a desktop, laptop, Mac or PC it has a fan or fans and constantly draws in air for cooling along with dust, pet hair, moisture and just about anything else floating around. Over time this builds up in the fans causing them to slow down or stop working. When the fans aren’t working correctly the computer will overheat, slow down, shut down or cause damage to sensitive components inside.
If your computer is more than a year or two old and hasn’t be blown out and checked for issues bring it to the Asheville Computer Company. As part of our standard diagnosis we clean out, thoroughly, all fans and ventilation. We will also check out all hardware and scan for infections of malware, viruses and nuisance programs.
If you have any questions about this service or any service we provide please let us know. We are glad to answer any questions.

The latest version of MacOS (High Sierra) has been installed and the computer is completely up to date. It works great and currently has no issues. The upgrade to a 500GB SSD makes this machine very fast along with the Intel i7 processor.
Call, come by or contact us for details on purchasing this as it will not last long.
MacOS High Sierra has been available for a couple of weeks now and we are ready to upgrade your Mac to the latest version. If you are hesitant about upgrading to new releases of macOS or not sure how it works, we can help.
Instead of you upgrading and taking a chance that you have issues or the upgrade fails let us do it for you. We take the time to do a full system backup prior to upgrade. This keeps your computer and data safe if the update results in issues or fails. You can be sure that your data is safe prior to the upgrade. We upgrade you to the latest version, check compatibility with existing programs and perform additional updates as necessary. We will also check for overall system health and recommend maintenance or upgrades where possible.
High Sierra is compatible with the following models:
MacBook (Late 2009 or later)
MacBook Air (2010 or later)
MacBook Pro (2010 or later)
Mac mini (2010 or later)
Mac Pro (2010 or later)

If you have an earlier model Mac and want to get upgraded to a previous version of macOS we can help with that too. We can upgrade to any older version of macOS with the same safe process.
We are seeing more and more Macs this year with issues, upgrades and data transfers. We happened to have 3 similar iMac models in at one time: 2 for an upgrade from an older iMac to a newer iMac and 1 having software issues.
We were able to transfer the user programs and data to the new iMac so that everything was exactly the same when they turned on the new machine.
The 3rd iMac was reset back to factory and the latest version of MacOS was installed to get it back up and running like new for it’s new owner.
If you are purchasing a new Mac and need help setting it up and transferring your data give us a call. We also purchase some older Macs or can help with recycling hardware.
We are one of the few shops in Asheville that work on both PCs and Macs.
This customer brought us a gaming PC that was overheating and having issues with performance. We quickly took a look and determined that the CPU fan needed to be replaced due to excessive build-up on the heat sink that was unable to be removed.
We replaced their existing fan and heat sink with a newer and improved version and their system was running cooler than ever!
If you are having issues with your gaming computer or want an upgrade please give us a call.
If you have an older Mac and didn't get these programs free you can get them form free now. You can save almost $100 over the apps old price!

This iMac was brought to us with the usual issues from a Mac of this age. The user reported that it was running very slow and the fans were loud. They wanted to know if they should spend the money to replace it or was there something that could be done to bring it back to life.
The price of a new iMac could range from $1200 to well over $2000 for a top of the line machine. The truth is that most people don’t need the latest and greatest Mac to do the things they need to do on a computer.
We were able to replace the old and worn out spinning hard drive with a new super fast SSD drive. This new drive is 10x faster than the old drive and runs considerably cooler and quieter. We also took the opportunity to clean the fans and vents to ensure that everything was cooling properly.
We were able to clone the old drive over to the new SSD so the only difference the user saw was the tremendous speed increase. All their files and programs were exactly as they were before the upgrade.
The end result was an iMac that actually ran faster, quieter and cooler than it did when it was new out of the box. It was taking over 5 mins for it to boot up to the desktop before the upgrade. After the upgrade it was ready to go in under 30 seconds and applications responded almost immediately when clicked.
If you have an older Mac and are considering upgrading due to slow performance or space issues then please give us a call first to explore your options. We may be able to upgrade your hard drive or increase your RAM to give you the performance boost you need to make your Mac last.
We can save you thousands over the price of a new computer.
This HP Compaq computer was a bit older and hadn’t had regular maintenance in quite a while. The customer reported that it was running slow for a while and now started shutting down on it’s own.
As you can see from the before and after photos it was very dirty inside causing it to overheat and shut down to keep from doing damage to the motherboard and CPU. The CPU fan and heat sink were completely clogged with dust and not effective anymore. Once the dust has covered the fins on the heat sink the fan can no longer do it’s job. If this customer didn’t bring the computer in it would have eventually been damaged beyond repair.
We thoroughly cleaned the inside and outside of the PC to make sure there was proper airflow and it could cool effectively. We also replaced a fan that had been damaged by trying to work too hard to cool off the computer. Now it starts up and runs like new!
If it’s been a while since you have had your computer cleaned then give us a call! A little maintenance goes a long way in keeping your computer running as long as possible.
The customer reported that their fairly new Dell Studio XPS would no longer turn on after a recent storm. Most of the time when pushing the power button it would turn a faint yellow color but it would not boot and there was no noise as if it was starting up.
We diagnosed it over the phone as a bad power supply and when we got it into the shop that is exactly what we found. The power supply was replaced and got it back up and running with no issues. We also took the chance to upgrade the power supply to a more powerful, reliable and cooler running model.
If your computer won’t boot or seems to have power issues bring it us to check it out and get you back up and running.
